Exhibition "My world - 2004"

They communicate heartily, and know no limits. They express their opinion of the world and people sincerely. They appear everywhere: despite that it is an exhibition, or a spectacle, they are always there, joyfully living their lives. Their strength is the strong tutors are always with them.
They are Vilijampolėpension dwellers, whose works could be seen at the photography exhibition 'My World - 2004'. Eight authors presented their works at Kaunas Artists' House. About forty photos reflected authors'environment: the weird friends, daily work, joy.
One year ago a similar exhibition was held in Kaunas School of Photographic Art.
"We try to integrate the disabled into society by means of such events, revealing them a different world, teaching to take photos. Figuratively speaking, we seek to show them a varied world in addition to the one they see through the pension window", - said photographer Jonas Daniūnas, the organizer and supporter of this interesting event, certain that the project will continue on successfully.
"I like taking photos of my friends, especially when they expect it least", - said Renata. She made no secret of the fact that it was fun to see her pictures in the exhibition. Juozas Laurynas, the pension manager, didn't spare nice words for the authors, he shared the opinion that events like that jollied up childish life.
Presents of the sponsors, delight, future plans… Some of the young photographers told that they liked performing in the pension theatre, directed by Ilona Papečkytė, one of the initiators of the exhibition.
Frenchwoman Juli Grosete and Italian Sara, working in the pension under a support program, took vicarious pleasure in the charges, too. One of the last collective projects is acting in a play by V. Bartkevičius.
It is possible to find similarities, to understand each other and to learn some from each other.
